Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (KBWI/BWI) is an international airport serving the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
The airport is named after the late Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, who was the first African-American to serve on the US high court.
BWI is a secondary hub for AirTran Airways and a focus city for Southwest Airlines. Almost 21 million passengers passed through the airport in 2009, ranking it 24th in the United States in terms of passengers served.
Southwest gates are located from A1 through A12 and B1 through B5.
BWI is under the radar control of Potomac TRACON and Washington ARTCC. | |
