Staff Vacancies

The Director of Events is primarily responsible for setting up online group flight events, creating and executing new Southwest Virtual tours, and keeping our pilots updated with new VATSIM/VATUSA events that are posted within our Discord server. The Director of Events will manage the VAs Event Coordinators to ensure we are offering weekly/biweekly/monthly group flights and events. This comes along with responsibilities as a base manager including, but not limited to:

Position Details
-Responding to emails in a timely manner
-Generating and Publishing new Group Events
-Maintaining activity within the Virtual Airline through both flights and engagements on media outlets that SVA uses (Facebook/Discord)
-Moderating SVA media outlets
-Gathering feedback from pilots to continue improving upon the VA and Events Department
-Partaking in an Instructor Course for simulator and 737 knowledge pertinent to Southwest Virtual Operations

Requirements
1. Staff members are required to complete two (2) flights every 30 days to remain active.
2. Staff members may NOT be in a staff role with another virtual airline.
3. Staff members must be at least 18 years of age.
4. Staff members are required to be able to attend a monthly/quarterly staff meeting, held within the first week of each month/quarter.
5. Staff members must have achieved at a minimum the rank of Captain within the VA.
6. Must be in good standing with the airline.
7. Must be an active and sociable member on our Discord server prior to and upon placement onto the staff team roster.
8. All staff new hires are subject to a probation period of one (1) month for performance evaluation and reconsideration of position hired if necessary.
9. Staff members must be actively working to obtain the instructor role within the VA. Members must have instructor role within 30 days of their probationary period.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TRAINING OPENING: REQUIREMENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible to the Director of Training for the creation, implementation, review, and evaluation of all Flight Training Programs. The Assistant Director of Training is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of and adherence to the Flight Training Manual as prescribed by the VA and ensuring that there is an adequate number of trained and qualified instructional staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires 6 months as a VA member.
Rank requirements: Captain or higher
Ideally a qualified instructor, FAA or real world pilot.
Training and/or Scheduling experience desired.
Management experience desired.
Minimum 2 days/week of open availability for meetings, training, etc.
